So I’ve had my Blackberry Storm for about 2 weeks now and I’ve certainly got everything setup how I like it and have found the essential apps to work with my life. First thing I want to put on the record, that the battery life initially sucked horribly then I removed VZ Navigator which from my research was the blood sucking battery whore. So for the noobs getting their Storm, first thing I would suggest is to remove the VZ Navigator application immediately.
As one of my core uses of my blackberry is on the fly decision making, business e-mail, information recollection, and the occasional get me unlost.
EverNote – www.evernote.com
This application is great for note taking from e-mails, SMS, pictures, etc. What is awesome about this application is that it will sync completely with your desktop EverNote. This is essential for me, as sometimes I’m not around a computer and someone calls me and I need access to my notes and documentation that I have began migrating away from Microsoft OneNote 2007 to EverNote on my desktop for this exact reason.
UberTwitter – http://www.ubertwitter.com/
Kinda of a no brainer here, this is the best Blackberry Twitter app hands down. They also should get some extra respect for having a Drupal website too :)
Poynt – www.mypoynt.com
I use this for my “411” service although I’ve recently found a better application for this.
Microsoft Live Search (Bing) – www.bing.com
My inclusive “411” resource, and it just works… Anything and everything can be found here. Microsoft has finally done something right with their search engine.
Facebook – www.facebook.com
Another no brainer here, integrates nicely with the camera so you can upload your pictures directly to Facebook
So far those are the only applications that I run on my blackberry.
