I never really anticipated the idea of e-mail, document collaboration, Twitter, instant messaging, application integration, and full web site integration to be completely rolled into a single entity. I’m waiting anxiously on getting access to the Developer Sandbox so I can play with the API and work on an extension to possibly streamline our Backup Notification Protocols and streamline our Customer Support workflow.
The thing that I was most impressed with, is the spell checker engine (Spelly) and how it is based of a context/grammar engine instead of a dictionary engine that is commonly used today. I believe this is the first time this has ever been done. Other than that the whole idea of having your own Wave server is awesome to be able to have something immersed into a corporate section and leverage it locally. The whole thing of real-time e-mail/discussion group/instant messaging is just insane and is going to completely re-invent everything we know of communication today. Actually I’m not going rant on this much just watch this..
